Most of these web tools are ones that I know about or have tried out on a trial basis, but never seem to find the time to really explore. So, I thought that summer would be the perfect time to play with these tools to become more familiar with them. Once I have more experience with them, I can promote their use with teachers.

When I read this document and listened to the video, I wondered how much of what we currently do in education that we should keep. Should we pick out a few successful practices and scratch the rest or just start over? Teachers definitely need to collaborate for the benefit of each student, but that takes time, and time cost money. Most teachers are already working many many of their afterschool hours. It would be nice if we used the research and made best practices the standard.As far as the students go, they are already ready. It's the school system, and some staff who are holding them back. Students will become engaged in whatever is relavent and exciting to them. Project based instruction would help integrate the content areas as well as be an opportunity for the use of these technologies.
